Below are the latest plans for the Rolling Green development. Located just behind the current Windsor Green apartment complex there will be a number of very large apartments buildings (see third picture below: “Rear Elevations, Building Style A”), and the remaining buildings will be tall townhouses which will be visible from Greenwood Road. As you can see there are a number of conservation easements directly adjacent to the development, and the Fish Brook water supply which feeds directly into the Haggets Pond Reservoir abuts the development as well.
There will be 275 total apartments which consist of 190 one bedrooms (many the same size as the 2 bedrooms), 70 two bedrooms, and 15 three bedrooms. Useable green space is limited, the density numbers are way above what the town would consider acceptable, and the environmental/public safety issues are problematic.
Looking at these projects, you can see that these projects do not conform to the building and density guidelines that have been established within the town.
